What is the tallest tree? Which pine has the largest cones? Which pine has needles 12 to 18 inches long? Answers: The Redwood is the tallest tree (record 364 ft). The Giant Sequoia is the largest and oldest living thing. The Sugar Pine cones are the largest known 12 to 15 inches long, often longer. The Sugar Pine is also one of the tallest, largest and most majestic of the pines. The Longleaf Pine has, as its name implies, long needles 12 to 18 inches long, dark green and shiny, three in a cluster.
